Model Redistricting

Students in a Stanford Law policy practicum led by Professor Nate Persily responded to a once-in-a-decade opportunity to help ensure fair representation by working on model redistricting plans to redraw Congress.

Tribal Government Legal Structures

Assistant Professor Elizabeth Reese discusses her new article, published in the Stanford Law Review, which analyzes the way U.S. legal institutions systematically ignore the legal structures created by tribal governments.

National Research Cloud

A multidisciplinary policy practicum led by Professor Daniel Ho released a blueprint for how to build a National Research Cloud, a system that would allow the broader AI academic research community to access computing and data resources for AI research. 

Child Tax Credit

Jacob Goldin, an assistant professor who specializes in tax policy, discusses the Child Tax Credit and a possible work requirement for it.

Guttentag Joins DOJ

Professor of the Practice of Law Lucas Guttentag joined the Biden administration as senior counselor for immigration policy to the Department of Justice’s Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

Hazzard Cordell, (Ret.), JD ’74, the Superior Court of Northern California's first African American woman judge. Judge Cordell’s insights into our legal system and higher education are truly unique. In addition to her historic appointment to the bench, she pioneered Stanford Law School’s minority recruitment efforts as an assistant dean and later returned to campus in a university-wide leadership role as vice provost. We hope you join us as we learn from her wide range of experiences in and out of the courtroom, as both jurist and advocate.
