Expanding Global Law Program

SLS will expand its global educational offerings through a $25 million gift from William A. Franke LLB ‘61 (BA '59), a prominent businessman and lifelong philanthropist. The gift will endow SLS’s Global Initiative which will now be named the W. A. Franke Global Law Program.

The Post-Kennedy Court

Dahlia Lithwick, JD ’96, senior editor for Slate, joined Stanford Legal on SiriusXM co-hosts Professors Pam Karlan and Joe Bankman in a special discussion about covering the Supreme Court and changes to it after Justice Kennedy’s retirement.

New Legal-Social Work Collaborative

Stanford Law is launching a new program that brings social work graduate students to the Mills Legal Clinic for interdisciplinary work with law students. Kiu "Kathy" Ho joined SLS this fall to launch the program.

Assistant Professor Rabia Belt and Doron Dorfman, lecturer in law, discuss the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), noting its accomplishments as well as its loopholes and shortcomings.

Fair Use at the Supreme Court

Should a cable news network be able to stop a major media-monitoring service provider from recording, indexing, and screening its news coverage? The Juelsgaard Intellectual Property and Innovation Clinic filed an amicus brief in October to address this concern.
