In a new study by Stanford's RegLab and HAI, Professor Daniel Ho and his co-authors find disturbing and pervasive errors among three popular large language models such as ChatGPT on a wide range of legal tasks, demonstrating that legal "hallucinations" are pervasive and disturbing.
