Racial Bias at IRS

In this New York Times article, the IRS says it will take action after Professor Daniel Ho's co-led research team found that Black taxpayers are 3 to 5 times more likely to be audited.

Who Counts as an Inventor?

New research, undertaken by an interdisciplinary team of Stanford Law and Medicine students, looks at the overlap between biomedical research paper authors and those authors who are named inventors on subsequent patents. Among the findings is a gender discrepancy.

CodeX – The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics announced the recipients of its third annual CodeX Prize during April's CodeX FutureLaw 2023 Conference

Celebration of the 2022 Stanford Bright Award Honoree, Anderson Jean

Bright Award winner Anderson Jean will be honored with an award presentation followed by a panel discussion that will be moderated by Greg Dalton, host of The Commonwealth Club's Climate One podcast. In addition to Anderson Jean, the panel includes Rodolfo Dirzo, Conservation Ecologist, Professor in Stanford's Biology and Earth Systems Departments, and Associate Dean of Stanford's Doerr School for Sustainability, and Ursula Parrilla, Regional Director for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean at the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The panel will focus on the challenges of conservation in poverty-stricken portions of the world, in the Caribbean, and beyond.
