Remembering Barbara Babcock

Barbara Babcock, beloved teacher and pioneering attorney who was instrumental in the establishment of today’s Public Defender Service before becoming the first tenure-track woman to serve on the faculty at Stanford Law School, passed away. Here, she is remembered by faculty and former students.

COVID-19 Memo Database

The new COVID-19 Memo Database, developed and maintained by the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and Cornerstone Research, aims to provide searchable access to the growing number of memoranda covering legal, regulatory, accounting, and governance issues raised by the current coronavirus crisis.

Guggenheim Fellowships

Professors Bernadette Meyler and Nathaniel Persily have been awarded 2020 Guggenheim Fellowships. This prestigious honor recognizes mid-career scholars, artists and scientists who have demonstrated a previous capacity for outstanding work and continue to show exceptional promise.

Healthy Election Project Launched

Stanford-MIT Project on a Healthy Election launched this week. The program will bring academics and election administration experts together to address the unprecedented and ongoing threat that the COVID-19 pandemic poses to the 2020 election and to ensure the 2020 election can proceed with integrity, safety, and equal access.

Supreme Court Clinic Win

Stanford Supreme Court Litigation Clinic students describe their work on Ramos v. Louisiana, argued by Professor Jeffrey Fisher, and this week's SCOTUS decision striking down Louisiana's nonunanimous jury law.
