The San Francisco and Silicon Valley Law Chapters and the Class of 2009 invite you and your family to the SF Giants v. LA Dodgers baseball game.

Prior to the game, at 5:00 p.m., mingle with fellow SLS alumni, students, and recent admits at Pete's Tavern and enjoy great food and company. Then we'll head over to AT&T Park to watch the game in our group seats located in Section 140, starting at 7:15 p.m.

International Labor Standards, Rights and Beyond Conference

Judge Rosemary Barkett August 14-15, 2009

The conference provides a forum in which to examine freedom of association and antidiscrimination rights, with a focus on regional treaty mechanisms and American law. There will also be discussions concerning recent decisions about the right to strike across national boundaries in the European Union, from the perspectives of the EU, the NLRB, and other governmental entities.

Panels will address the subject of corporate responsibility and codes of conduct, ideas about “transnational labor citizenship,” country-specific labor programs linking trade and labor rights, and the role of the World Trade Organization and the International Labor Organization.

Judge Rosemary Barkett of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit will keynote the event. The Honorable Donald Johnston, Former Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, will deliver the luncheon address. The conference will conclude with a specific focus on labor standards in the United States and worldwide, accompanied by remarks from Professor Robert Flanagan of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
